To oversee and manage the security risk management programme to ensure the safety and protection of our personnel, assets, and operations against potential security threats and risks.
- Assist the Risk Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive security risk management program, including risk assessment, risk mitigation strategies, and risk monitoring. Identify and assess security risks specific to the gold mining operation and develop strategies to minimize those risks.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments, evaluating potential threats, vulnerabilities, and impacts on personnel, assets, and operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, analyze risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and relevant regulations. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements related to security risk management.
- Lead and  coordinate  security  incident  management,  including  the  response,  investigation,  and documentation of security incidents. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
- Monitor and assess security intelligence from various sources to identify emerging threats, trends, and risks. Stay  informed  about regional  security dynamics, industry-specific  risks, and  best practices in security risk management.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to evaluate, implement, and manage security technologies and systems. Ensure the effective integration and utilization of access control systems, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies.
- Stay updated with relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to security risk management in the  mining  industry. Ensure  adherence  to  legal  and  regulatory obligations, including  reporting, licensing, and permit requirements.
- Manage relationships with security service providers, contractors, and vendors. Evaluate and select appropriate vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on security risk management activities, incidents, and  mitigation  measures.  Maintain  accurate  documentation  of risk  assessments,  incident reports, and security procedures.
- A  professional  qualification  in  Security  Management,  Social  Science  or  related  discipline  from  a recognised Tertiary Institution.
- Advanced qualification in Security Investigations and experience in command/managerial position will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive security exposure in the extractive environment or experience in security services (e.g. Military, Police or Governmental or Private Security Service) or 6 years of supervisory experience in the corporate sector at an operational level, in a multi-national setting or Civil sector with international exposure.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Investigations of which 2 years should be managerial experience in intelligence gathering and analysis.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving licence.
- Excellent knowledge in Risk Assessment.
- Proficient in the use of Security Technologies.
- Solid understanding and interpretation of Security Policies and Procedures.
- Demonstrable experience in incident Management.
- Security Intelligence and Threat Assessment.
- Understanding of Physical Security Measures.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including word, excel, power point, outlook etc.
- Ability to build and sustain a team of subordinates capable of producing expected outputs.
- Ability to make decisions correctly and promptly and in line with Company Values.
- Must have good organizational and administrative skills.
- Understand managerial needs and directions.
- Must have experience in conflict resolution.
- Must be an innovative thinker, driven by results-achievement.
- Must be a team player.
